Blast From the Past Thursdays: Wooden Tree Comb

I made this wooden comb in my crafts class back in college. We had to create a unique comb and so I decided that the roots of the tree would be the teeth of the comb. The comb is definitely more for decorative purposes rather than practicality. The wood is birds eye maple with a light stain and cut with a coping saw. Crafts class gave students the fundamental understandings of the processes in metal smithing, fiber crafts, paper crafts, and wood work using creative design and technical craftsmanship.
