a-ha: Take On Me MV

Saw this music video and had to post because it was done so well. Take On Me is an iconic song from the 80s and is still a happy, upbeat, and catchy song. The band a-ha made the music video and it combines live action footage and pencil sketch animation done with rotoscoping. Rotoscoping is when the artist traces over live action footage frame by frame to get realistic movement. The music video won 6 awards: Best New Artist in a Video, Best Concept Video, Most Experimental Video, Best Direction, Best Special Effects, and Viewer's Choice. Fun fact: in Europe, the song failed twice, but then the song was re-recorded in the United States along with the making of the music video and it became a huge hit.
