A quick painting, experimenting with gouache, maybe I'll try it again with some other medium? Japanese fishermen used to use these glass floats to keep fishing nets afloat. Sadly, nowadays they have been replaced with plastic, styrofoam and aluminum. I wonder why they stopped making them with glass? They're so much neater looking as different colored translucent spheres. Fun fact: Japanese glass floats used to be made from recycled glass, mainly with old sake bottles.
