A pen and ink drawing. Hoshizuna Beach in Okinawa is where star shaped sand exists. The stars aren't really sand at all, they're the exoskeletons of tiny sea creatures called formaminifera. About 30-50% of the sand is made up of these stars and it makes the beach unique and pretty!
