Ficus Lyrata

A watercolor painting of some fiddle leaf fig leaves done with Grumbacher watercolor paints. Fun Fact: Ficus lyrata aka fiddle leaf fig trees grow in the rainforest, they typically start their growth on the top of another tree as an epiphyte, though they can grown on their own. An epiphyte grows on the the top of another plant high up in the canopy and they aren't connected to the soil. This protects them from herbivores as well as getting enough sunlight and they get their nutrients from the mist, rain and dew.
