I've finally have time to post work from my classes this semester! This is a fibula brooch that was made in my advanced jewelery class. It's made of copper wire and annealed with a torch to soften the metal, making it easier to bend. It is then bent to a desired shape and then pounded on a anvil. The tip is tapered and sanded down to a point that rests in the clasp part. History fact: fibula brooches were used in Roman times to clasp articles of clothing or cloaks.
I love that you put how you made it and the history fact!
